More useful info!

What levels are included in Piano Maestro?

There are 37 chapters and 3-5 levels within each chapter. The last level reaches to about Piano Adventures Level 3a. That’s basically late elementary/early intermediate. If you need harder music, consider using the Daniel McFarlane’s Super Sonics pieces in the method section. The library and exercises have exercises & songs up to the late intermediate level.

What’s the difference between “rank” and “chapter?”

The chapters are actual chapters of songs. The students can “rank up” by playing any song. For example, they can play the same song 100’s of times and keep raising their rank. The rank is more indicative of how much time they have spent with the app, while the chapter is how much content they have mastered.

How do I keep students motivated over the summer months with Piano Maestro?

Here are 5 tips that may be fun for summer or even a group lesson or studio contest.

How do I set up an account for my own child under a teacher account? (Thanks, Nicole Douglas, for this info!)

Here is how to connect your own children so you can start assigning home challenges to them, even though you share the same JoyTunes account username (your email) and your children use the “teacher’s” iPad(s).

1) Go to the parent/teacher Profile section

2) Select your child’s profile, then in the “Connect to Teacher” box type your email you used for setting up your JoyTunes account (the one to which they send emails) and add “+teacher” to the end of the user name before the “at” sign. Ex:  if your teacher email is janedoe@mail.com, you would need to type in janedoe+teacher@mail.com.

The app will still say your child is not connected, but it will now allow you to assign Home Challenges. All this info will also be added to the teacher weekly updates, too, so your child will be treated exactly like a student in the app, even though it still will say they are not connected.
