Take a moment to check out the video below –you’ll learn what we’re cooking up this summer at 88 Creative Keys and get a chuckle, too.
Here we go!
The 88 Creative Keys 2017 Workshop Registration is open. If you’ve been thinking about attending, this is the year to commit.
The first ten registrants get an extra discount–they are going fast (I mean SUPER fast) so press that blue button below.
Need more info before you commit? Here are some answers to the questions you may have.
What is 88 Creative Keys all about?
Co-founders Bradley Sowash and Leila Viss (that’s me) teach teachers to improvise, use technology, lead off-bench activities, direct group teaching, and acquire updated business skills with today’s leading pedagogues.
This year’s theme is “Trending” which means we’ll cover what everyone’s talking about:
- Group Teaching
All of these hot topics will be woven into the typical piano lesson curriculum. Day one we’ll focus on Technique, the next day we’ll dig into Repertoire and the third day, Self-Expression. Need a clearer picture of how this looks? The graphic below describes it best……
Why should I make the Denver workshop a priority?
Bradley and I take pride in the unique learning experiences at the 4-day event. Unlike “department store” conferences where the selection of sessions can overwhelm and come short of expectations, this boutique-sized workshop gives attendees a dynamic and immersive experience. You’ll sit at a keyboard so you can try out ideas immediately as they are presented. Interaction and dialogue between fellow teachers and faculty are welcomed and expected. You’ll return home to your studios rejuvenated with innovative ideas, new skills, an action plan, sweet memories and the support of lifelong friends.
Who will be leading the first three days of the workshop?
Along with Bradley and I, good friend Tim Topham will join the team as our extra special guest instructor hailing from Melbourne, Australia! He’ll share his approach to reaching and teaching students through chords, pop music (among other styles) and plenty of improvisation. Check out Tim’s impressive blog and projects here. In addition to instruction by Bradley, Tim and me, there will be at least one guest appearance by an expert in the pedagogy of group teaching that you will not want to miss.
The only problem with owning a tech-savvy, creative-based studio is that your wait list will grow and business will take off. With a “problem” like that, it’s important to have strong business sense. That’s why we’ve dedicated day four to Studio Business. We are extremely pleased that Music Mentor Group will be leading this interactive Saturday workshop. Debra Perez, Robyn Harris, Kathy Rabago, Natalia Huang own and operate highly successful, multi-teacher studios and will share their wisdom so you too, can operate and grow a thriving studio.
When is it so I can mark my calendar?
Days 1-3: Creativity Workshop Wednesday – Friday, July 19-21, 2017
Day 4: Studio Business Workshop – Saturday, July 22
Where is it so I can make travel plans?
Head to Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado. It’s a western suburb of Denver with a terrific view of the Rocky Mountains.
What do others have to say about their experience?
